Currently Watching
Seinfeld - Season 4
By Jerry Seinfeld, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Michael Richards, Jason Alexander
see related

7. Watching House - Tuesday nights at 8:00 I think with Adam, Mike, anyone else. How badass will doctor House become?

8. Trips Downtown - we could go explore the Amazon River Basin, but the big city has many creatures and their unexplored habitat just waiting to be discovered. Both the Science and Art Museums are choice visits, as well as Nicollet and maybe Lyndale.

9. Sports - very stereotypically getting a group of guys together to watch "The Game" = Vikings, Timberwolves, Wild. With chips and dip and maybe pizza or whatever else. Also, hopefully screaming at the TV, at each other, at the spilled food on the TV screen blocking the game, at the phone, and at any other various distractions during the game. May also include fighting, victory dances, and/or gambling.

10. Organic Farming Project - I will attempt to learn how to grow crops organically on a trial and error basis throughout the year on whatever land I can find to do so. If I have enough time I would like to grow a huge pumpkin that I can buy a carving kit for to carve for halloween.

11. Learn Sign Language - I have to admit, this probably won't ever happen.

12. Make Music Timeline - a timeline of every music genre and famous bands from each decade in order to make up for all the lost time of not listening to music until high school.

13. Learn to Cook Vegetarian Meals/Join that Group that Sends You Organic Produce Throughout the Year Depending on the Crop Cycle - ok.

Where did July go?

Traditions that I would like to have next year:

1. Secret Movie Night - a night where a couple of movies are watched, always followed by a secret movie that only one of the group knows about ahead of time. The secret movie should be a cheaply produced movie that makes you wonder things like: what is this movie's plot? Does it have a plot? What is this Thunderdome and how can I make one to set up in my backyard and charge admission? Is that secret communication device the same thing as the key chain remote to my mom's van? And is there anything Chuck Norris can't do?

2. Settlers Night - a night where many Settlers boards are combined to play one massive game of Settlers. May also be changed to Clue, Axis & Allies, Risk, or Balderdash Night.

3. Marathon Training - Soon me and Kyle will undergo the most intense month of training that has ever, ending in a 26.2 mile race in which me and Kyle will dance circles around the Kenyans until the finish at which time me and Kyle will battle each other with various medieval weapons until one of us emerges victorious, casually taking the win for the Twin Cities Marathon, and congratulations from Keanu Reeves.

4. Grease-the-Melon - a game in which a watermelon is criscoed until slippery and used to play various games such as Smear-the-Queer, Waterpolo, or Rugby. Followed by a ceremonial cutting and eating of the melon.

5. Egg-nog Night with Gump - a mysterious enigma of a man serves egg-nog to all in a very questionable fashion for no apparent reason at all. Followed by a ceremonial signing of the chef's hat.

6. #1 Song Show-down - me, Rob, Mike, and anyone willing to get their ass handed to them by us will take turns playing songs until the others give in to the winner's unbeatable selection.

The Future of Food

Today I finally found a summer job. I'll be working at the food stands at various fairs around the state. What I know about the job so far is that:

(Positive)

 - the pay is $8.00/hr CASH to start, which does not include weekly bonuses for commission.

 - i don't start work until the fair opens each day, which is usually in the afternoon.

 - at least one day each week i get paid just for driving to the next fairground site.

 - i'll get about 65 hours of work in per week.

 - i get free fair food from almost all of the stands.

(Negative)

 - no more trips to see friends, or even family, except for the first weekend in August which I asked to be off for.

 - i'll have to work until midnight or later every night.

 - i'm working with crazy carnies of which some are ex-convicts and such

I also watched a very interesting movie today on GMOs. It is entitled The Future of Food. The website www.thefutureoffood.com also had a very interesting resouce that I wish I could check out. That site is www.green.tv  , and it's actually a tv station that runs on the web I guess. Unfortunately my home computer is too slow to keep up with the station. I really wish I could watch it though!
